About UsMontessori Borealis is a preschool program for three to five year olds that provides a positive, safe, high-quality learning environment prepared for children to discover and actively engage in their own learning. Montessori Borealis and its supporting society’s board of directors has offered a Montessori program since 1998 to the Whitehorse community. Montessori Borealis operates half-day and full-day programs during the school year at the Whitehorse Elementary School with trained, experienced bilingual Montessori teachers. Our teachers are all designated Child Care Worker Level 3 through the Yukon Health and Social Services and are trained through the Association Montessori International training centres. The Montessori teacher training provides a full year of rigorous academic training in child psychology, the Montessori method and philosophy. Children in the class are welcome to converse with their teachers either in French or English. Our teachers are enthusiastic, flexible, caring and strongly grounded in Montessori philosophy to help your child get the most out of each day.
